Every now and then I get press badges when I work as a reporter. I must say that the last one from Idol is the best looking one. I wonder why? ;)

A cute pen

I write a lot both in my job as a reporter and a recruitment leader. I should use this pen more often, it's so elegant. I got it from my mum while ago.

A glimpse of cuteness

I did see some cute things in Brussels, like this bear that was sitting in a window for a toy shop.

Update: Sorry for calling it a bear, what was I thinking? Of course I know that it's a famous monkey:)

Btw, this isn't the pink "toy" that I was talking about, you'll see that later...

Home sweet home

I'm back in Sweden now! I didn't have so much time to blog in Brussels as you might understand. I also got the worst cold ever, not so fun when you're traveling. My impression of Brussels wasn't great. It was much dirtier than I thought but there were some really cool buildings. It was really interesting to visit the Parliament and Commission too and I learned a lot. The food was great as well.

I did plan do to some shopping but in the end I just bought Belgian chocolate and a planner. They had some great stores but I wasn't in the mood since I wasn't feeling so good. I bought myself a pink toy when I came home instead which I'll show you later.

Who could possibly be me? ;)

Hello from Brussels!

I'm here! And I did bring my computer since I need it for work (and to blog too;). We arrived late tonight so we haven't really explored the city yet. My biggest experience so far was my first visit at Starbucks at the airport in Sweden, and my first Swedish tall Caramel Macchiato! They opened the first Starbucks recently but they only got one at Arlanda airport and you have to fly international in order to go there. It made my day!

Off to Belgium

I have almost forgotten but I'm going to Brussels tomorrow. I haven't started packing yet, even though my suitcase has been laying on the floor for days. I know what I'm doing today with other words.

I'm not sure if I should bring my laptop. It would be nice to take a rest from the World Wide Web for a week but I have work to do.

Sandra + Idol

It's getting a little lonely here at the campus. We're off for a few days and almost everybody went home, except for me. I was looking forward to go home to mum's but I got a job offer I couldn't resist (actually, I never resist job offers). I'm going to be an Idol reporter because they are arranging one of the finals in a city close to where I live.

I started already last weekend when I did some interviews with the contestants. Tomorrow I'm going to live blog at the newspaper site from the rehearsal, that will be awesome.

My greatest love story

Today it's exactly three years ago since I moved to the United States. It was also my very first visit there  when I arrived on November 5th 2007 and I didn't know anyone there at the time.

Or like I'm going to write on my Facebook; it was three years ago since the greatest love story of my life started. I never thought I would love the country as much as I do.

We'll se what the future holds. I might move back one day:)

LACK skrivbord ♥

I miss my pink desk that I had in my room in Minnesota. I bought it from Ikea so if I want to I could just do an half hour drive and go and buy one here in Sweden. But I wont, it wouldn't be the same thing. I have always said that if I move back to Minnesota I will go and take it back:)

Such a relief

I just got back from an old people's home where I did some interviews for a school project. It's such a relief to finally have done it since my deadline is tomorrow night.

Now I have time to focus on recruiting au pairs. I wish I could go to a nice coffee shop and work there but this is such a small city so I can't find a place like that. Best of all would be if we had Starbucks here. The only place you can find it in Sweden is at the airport in Stockholm, which is far from here. I have to visit it when I fly to Brussels from Stockholm though. My first Swedish tall Caramel Macchiato:)

Back and forth, back and forth

Every time I work I have to go to another city an hour drive away from here. It's so dark outside now so it's difficult to drive. I want it to snow again!


Work went just fine even though I haven't worked as an editor since before school started. I met my best friend there too but only for a few minutes. She works as a broadcast producer for a TV channel in the same building as the newspaper. I have to catch up with her soon, we haven't seen each other that much lately.
